: Hi Barb,
: You probably already know this but I'll mention it anyway. A diet high in carbohydrates will usually elevate your blood sugar level. So will fruits, juices, etc., and anything that quickly metabolizes to sugar. Try to pick items that slowly metabolize into sugar to avoid the yo-yo blood sugar effect.
: If you can, stay away from artificial sweeteners, when possible, since most have unwanted health and/or side effects.
: You may want to do some searches for web sites that may have additional information about specific herbs and/or nutritional supplements. You would include several words in the search box such as diabetes AND herbs. Each search engine has a way of including "all the words" in the search.

Hi Barb;
I have a diabetic son. One way he keeps his sugar levels stable is exercise. He seldom goes to the gym for a workout - instead he is very active. As well, everyday he does his nightly (his choice of time) stretching and muscle building exercises.
I have also read that chromium has something to do with diabetes.
Hope that helps.
